You would probably imagine them to be the musings of some 19th century colonialist. It was first published inand later revised in More time to join the latest howling low-information Twitter mob! This analysis unlocks the mysteries of Arab society to help us better understand a complex, proud and ancient culture. There is a lot wrong with The Arab Mind apart from its racism: It made me wish that we all had a glimpse into this information, because I truly believe it could broaden our understanding of and ability to build productive relationships with people who otherwise seem so different from ourselves.

The book is well organized and, for a scholarly study, especially interestingly and elegantly written.

The later studies tended to be narrower in focus than their predecessors, in that they concentrated on the relationship of personality traits to subsets of a given society or a given category of roles of that society, rather than on the identification of relationships between personality and the social structure as a whole.
